Charadrius dubius
Characteristics
The little ringed plover has golden yellow eye-rings, a short black beak, a black ring that connects across the chest, and yellow feet. During the non-breeding season, feathers are light in color, and the yellow eye-ring is unapparent. The little ringed plover is a winter migratory bird, with a few remaining as residents.
Habits: The little ringed plover feeds on small bugs or molluscs. The birds move fast andrun well, earning them the nickname the “thousand-foot bird”. They produce “pip pip, pip pip” calls.

Distribution
Flocks of little ringed plovers often appear in estuaries, sandbars, seashores, paddy fields, and marshes.
